Bert Hoveling was elected to Junior Vice President of APS (2004), Senior Vice President (2005), President (2006/2008) and Immediate Past President (2008/2009). Since 1995, Bert has gained over 700 National and International Acceptances in Photographic Salons, gaining him his LAPS(2004), AAPS(2006) and FAPS(2009) from APS, and his AFIAP(2008) and EFIAP(2013) from the Ferderation Internationale De L’Art Photographique (FIAP.

Bert has judged at more than fifty camera clubs at Club and State level, ten Nationals in Victoria, and four International Photographic Salons – The International Colour Awards - Masters Cup 2008, The Sony World Photography Awards 2008 , and The German Mega-Circuit 2012. He has also recently judged the Maitland International Salon of Photography in 2016. From 1998 to 2014, Bert was a member of the VIGEX international Salon of Photography Committee, serving as Chief Print Steward and also as President from 2006 to 2008. For his services to photography he has been awarded a SSVAPS (2004) and SSAPS (2004, HonFAPS (2016), and EsFIAP (2016). Bert is one of only two Australians so far elected to the World Photography Academy (2008) from the World Photography Organization (WPO).
