WORKSHOP: Wednesday, Nov 18
TOPIC: The Story Behind the Image
Every photograph has a story. Some of our images do well in evaluations, earning a Distinction or Merit. Others may be personal favourites for reasons that have little to do with technical perfection: a family moment, a street scene, an exciting travel experience, or simply a lucky shot. As I mentioned in my October President’s Notebook column, the story behind an image can matter just as much as the image itself.
For this workshop, we invite you to share up to three images that hold special meaning for you or tell a story. Choose an image you’d enjoy talking about—whether it’s a favourite, a memorable moment, or one with an interesting story behind how you took it. There’s no need for it to be an award winner.
You’ll tell us what the image means to you and, if you wish, how you made it, including any challenges or camera settings. After each presentation, we’ll have a brief Q&A with the audience.
Please email your images to the usual photodrop@yrps.org (Evaluation) address by Monday, November 16. I’ll prepare them for display on the evening. Label your images as Title-Name.
We hope you’ll join in. Even one image and its story can make for a memorable evening.
